Swim, boat or fish in crystal clear Lake Superior. On shore, pick agates or driftwood and then watch a spectacular sunset followed by a beach fire. Visit the beautiful waterfalls, hiking, biking, golfing, sightseeing, exploring old ghost towns, mine sites and cemeteries, bird watching, sunbathing and sailing are some of the activities you may enjoy. We have kayaks, canoes and paddle boards for our guest to use at the property.

Ontonagon County has over 50 miles of Lake Superior shoreline, perfect for boating. Docking facilities are located at the Ontonagon Marina. Canoeing enthusiast will find canoe routes on the Ontonagon River and other smaller rivers.

Wildflowers dot the landscape in soft hues of pink, purple, blue and white. Cook out a memorable meal on a charcoal grill and watch the northern lights put on a show.

Enjoy nature's color show outdoors and a cheery fire indoors (we provide the wood). Hiking and hunting are popular too. Ontonagon County's forests are populated by maples, birches and aspens that become ablaze with color in the fall. Come see why we consider autumn the best season to enjoy Ontonagon County. Fall is a good time for meandering the forest highways and trails with scenic vistas at every turn.

Thousands of acres of public access land offer hunters plentiful whitetail deer, bear and gamebirds. Game species include bear, deer, geese, ducks and ruffed grouse. There is outstanding deer and bear hunting in the area.

The Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park Ski Area has power-tilled runs through magnificent old growth forests, with spectacular views of Lake Superior. Two chairlifts, a T-bar and a rope tow make for short lift lines. There is a 641' vertical drop, the highest in the Midwest. A casual family atmosphere makes "The Porkies" special.

The Park maintains 30 miles of groomed Nordic trails that challenge and reward adventurous cross country skiers.

SNOWMOBILING -There are nearly 400 miles of groomed snowmobile trails in Ontonagon County that pass through some of the most beautiful scenery to be found in the midwest. Trails connect to others in the Western U.P. and beyond. Snowmobile rentals nearby. We have a heated workshop for our guests to use.
